Singapore’s 5 Best Non-Crowded Picnic Spots

At times, it can be pretty crowded in Singapore. And we know this isn’t ideal, especially when you wish to escape the crowd for a relaxing picnic in a quiet place with your loved ones. Fortunately, we’ve discovered some lovely picnic spots that aren’t packed with people – so all you have to do is make plans and prepare your picnic grub. Don’t forget to bring along a picnic mat and your camera to capture those special moments!

Today, Evolve Vacation shares Singapore’s 5 Best Non-Crowded Picnic Spots:

1) Upper Peirce Reservoir Park

One of the reasons why Upper Peirce Reservoir Park is a quiet picnic spot, is simply because it’s not accessible by public transport. So it would be wise to drive or take a cab here. When you get there, you’ll notice that the nature park is secluded and serene, making it perfect for a relaxing day out.

However, one thing you have to be careful of is the monkeys! In the event that they approach you, avoid eye contact and walk at least 1.5 meters away from them. It also helps to not eat in front of them. Also, do note that the nearest 7-11 is a 10 to 15-minute drive away, so make sure you prepare enough snacks and water if you decide to have a picnic here!

Address:
Along Old Upper Thomson Road

2) Labrador Park

Whether you’re a nature lover or a history enthusiast, Labrador Park has something to offer – from World War II relics and structures to lush greenery, and even a hill to hike! This tranquil park also houses various bird species and has a beautiful view of the sea. And the best part is that it is also a great non-crowded spot for a picnic! Some activities you can enjoy after your picnic include bird watching, fishing, or even going on a nature walk at the Coastal Path and Nature Path inside the Labrador Nature Reserve.

Address:
Labrador Villa Road
Singapore 119187

3) Henderson Waves

For an unconventional, relaxing picnic, Henderson Waves is the place to go. As it’s 36 meters above ground, it is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore! We think this is a great place to bring your date for a picnic – after all, the view is pretty picturesque, and if you time it correctly, you can catch sunset!

When night falls, the bridge is illuminated by LED lighting (until 2 a.m.), which is why you can also have a late night picnic under the stars if you find it too hot during the day.

Address:
Henderson Road, Southern Ridges, Bukit Merah

4) Woodlands Waterfront Park

If you’re having a family picnic with kids, Woodlands Waterfront Park is the perfect picnic spot – because of its adventure playground! What’s more, it’s a good place to escape the crowd because it’s still relatively unexplored.

When you’re there, you can choose to dine on the lush fields or eat by the sea. Psst! Expect to be blown away by a panoramic view of the entire coastal park and even the Straits of Johor when you chill out at rest shelters or vantage points on the scenic trail.

6A Admiralty Road

5) Sengkang Riverside Park

Tucked away in the North East region of Singapore is the peaceful Sengkang Riverside Park. Besides its tranquility and lack of crowd, this park allows you to get up close to its flora and fauna and even discover exotic fruits that can’t be found in local supermarkets. The park also has some iconic fruit structures – such as sliced orange seats and a mangosteen shelter – that you can pose with for a quirky Instagram photo!
